Seeking: LPN Nurse Supervisor 

 

Full Time Hours: Days/hours could shift to provide coverage in the medication dispensary, including weekend morning hours:

  • Monday - Friday: 5:30 AM - 1:30 PM 
  • Saturday mornings, as needed

Your Role as Nursing Supervisor:

The LPN Nursing Supervisor is responsible for directing care for patients, facilitating work flows, serving as a resource for staff, and providing team leadership in an outpatient opioid treatment program (OTP) environment. The LPN Nursing Supervisor maintains standards of professional nursing practice in accordance with clinic policy and procedures.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the Medication Room of the clinic is in full compliance with state and federal regulations, CARF standards, and clinic policies and procedures.
  • Supervises daily nursing operations for staff.
  • Makes staff assignments, creates schedules, and updates schedules for providers and support staff when changes are made;
  • Supervises and evaluates work activities of nursing, technical, clerical, service or maintenance staff for the work group and other clinic staff.
  • Ensures that medical records for patients are in compliance with clinic policies, federal and state laws/regulations at all times.
  • Review medical records to ensure medical compliance.
  • Oversee quality assurance activities and compliance to operational standards.
  • Participate in program development or implementation of operating policy and procedures.
  • Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Assists with the recruitment, hiring and training of new staff.

Qualifications

Your Education, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2+ years related nursing practice required
  • Minimum 1 year of nurse supervisory responsibility required
  • Clinical experience, especially in medication administration or patient care in relation to substance use and/or mental health.
  • Experience administering MAT (methadone, buprenorphine/suboxone, vivitrol), or other controlled substances is required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of drug classifications, side effects, and documentation protocols, including safe dispensing practices for methadone and buprenorphine.
  • Proficiency in medication dispensing procedures, dosage calculations, and maintaining accurate medication logs.
  • Strong observation and assessment skills; monitoring for signs of overdose, withdrawal, or misuse.
  • Ability to work with diverse and vulnerable populations in a compassionate and nonjudgmental manner.
  • Strong patient education surrounding MAT (methadone, buprenorphine/suboxone, etc.) 
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations, such as: HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2 (confidentiality of substance use disorder records), and DEA guidelines on controlled substance administration
  • There must be no history of alcohol or other drug misuse for a period of three years before employment

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current LPN license in the state of Vermont
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required
