Location: This position is hybrid, located in Carlsbad, CA or Franklin, TN

Your Job as a Junior Staff Accountant/ Grant Accountant:

The Grant Accountant is responsible for assisting with daily and monthly grant-specific accounting functions of Acadia’s Comprehensive Treatment Centers nationwide. Responsible for general accounting activities as they relate to grants, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of financial schedules, general ledger accounts and financial statements, such as bank statements, balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and capital expenditure schedules. Prepares, records, analyzes, and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance within accepted accounting policies and principles.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Cash reconciliations of grant payments, working with third-party billing vendors and Acadia’s Central Billing Office. Notify if payments are missing.
  2. Preparation of month-end templates and grant tracking reports.
  3. Work closely with grant team and clinic staff to ensure all grant-related information/activity is captured.
  4. Maintain compliance with federal, state, county and private grant regulations including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) for federally funded grants, including required reporting to funding agencies.
  5. Track required clinical reports related to grant-specific activity.
  6. Review accounts payable expenditures related to grants.
  7. Compare grant budgets to actual grant expenses to identify variances and project potential overspends or underspends and communicate to the Director of Grants Management and teams.
  8. Other ad-hoc projects.

Role Location: California or Tennessee

Calculated Salary Range for role: $26.44 - $31.25 per hour

Qualifications

Your Education, Skills, & Qualifications:

  • Accounting experience in general accounting preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work professionally with sensitive, proprietary data and information while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Interpersonal skills include the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels, both internal and external.
  • Exercises sound judgement in responding to inquiries and understanding when to route inquiries to the next level.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames.
  • Can adapt to frequent priority changes.
  • Capable of working within established policies, procedures, and practices prescribed by the organization.
  • English sufficient to provide and receive instructions and directions.
