Seeking: Lab Tech - Outpatient Opioid Treatment Program

 

Full-Time: Monday - Friday 5 AM - 1:30 PM

Your Job as a Laboratory Technician:

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results according to the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, and reporting and maintaining records of patient test results. The Laboratory Technician's primary responsibilities are completing and recording drug screen analyses and assisting with the flow of patients throughout the building. 

 

Your Responsibilities as a Laboratory Technician:

  • Perform daily quality control on test equipment, ensuring reagents/calibrators/and controls are performing within guidelines;
  • Verifying controls/tests on the test equipment and approving them in the LIS. Reviewing, reporting, and printing controls/patient results on a daily basis. Reviewing and logging daily QC temperatures on instruments, refrigerators, and charts;
  • Performing daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance on instruments and equipment. Receiving and setting up DSAs for testing
  • Ordering laboratory supplies on a timely basis;
  • Verifying expiration dates to ensure appropriate levels are ready for us. Checking collection dates on processed DSAs in holding refrigerators and disposing of them in a timely manner;
  • Assisting laboratory director whenever necessary to ensure laboratory is running smoothly;
  • Performing cleaning of laboratory areas and equipment; and,
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your Education, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent required,
  • Medical experience is required; experience drawing blood and/or recording drug screen analysis is a plus.
  • Documentation of training appropriate for the testing performed prior to analyzing patient specimens.
